Welcome to All Together Now, a chance for you to influence the
future of learning across the FE and Skills sector. I want to hear
everyone’s ideas and experiences. This site already hosts active
discussion groups, a lot of interesting content and many
challenging opinions and suggestions. I’m really pleased that so
many people have already taken the time to make their views known.
So please join in the debate. It is so obvious that digital
technologies are changing our world – how we work, play, organise
ourselves, communicate with each other and, most importantly here,
how we learn. We have already seen the impact of the internet and
the ownership of PCs and laptops in the classroom, library and
workshop, and we know they help people learn faster and get better
results. Now mobile broadband, social media, simulations, serious
gaming, content creation tools and the rest are helping us learn on
the move, develop and share resources, build online communities and
generally learn in stimulating and innovative ways. I want to see
further education colleges and training providers taking advantage
of this potential so that we can all enjoy ‘next generation
